Newborns

Congratulations on the impending arrival of your little one!  We have gathered some information on this page to help you prepare before baby arrives.

Notify Us

The best time to notify our office is 30-60 days before your due date. Our Patient Ambassador will assist in pre-registration of your child and provide additional helpful information.

Get Acquainted with Us

To learn more about our practice and familiarize yourself with our office, view our videos below before your baby’s first appointment. We recommend you view the Get Acquainted video a month or two before your due date so all are prepared for your child's first visit. If you have further questions, please email us at reception@foresthillspediatrics.com.

Lactation

We have two lactation consultants who will be happy to assist you in our office. Our lactation page has more information regarding breast feeding support.

Hospital Visit

If you are planning to deliver at Spectrum Health - Butterworth, our office will be notified once your baby arrives, and one of our physicians will see your child each day you are in the hospital.  If you child is delivered elsewhere, we will be notified and receive records upon your discharge.  Typically, newborns are seen in our office 24-48 hours after discharge from the hospital for their first well visit as recommended by the AAP to check in on their weight, any jaundice concerns and discuss questions you may have.

Insurance Policy

We participate with the following insurance companies: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network (NOT BCN PARTNERED), Cofinity, Medicaid, Meridian Health Plan of MI, Messa, Physician's Care, Priority Health, Priority Health Medicaid, Tricare Standard, and United Health Care.

Vaccination Policy

Because we care about the health and safety of your child and all of our patients, we follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Immunization schedule.  Therefore, if you have chosen to decline vaccines or follow an "alternative" vaccine schedule, we ask that you seek another pediatric practice.
