Measles Resurgence:  What Travelers Need to Know

Recently, measles has made a resurgence in parts of the world due to low vaccination rates.  Romania and Italy have seen outbreaks, as well as Guinea, Nigeria, and Mongolia.  If your child is 6 months or older, they may receive the vaccine early for protection.  Children older than 12 months of age should receive 2 doses of the vaccine at least 28 days apart.  Please visit the CDC's website to see if your child is eligible for vaccination prior to any international travel!
